On Thursday, BeagleBoard unveiled PocketBeagle, a tiny, open source, USB key fob computer that works as a development board for both beginners and professionals.

PocketBeagle—which, at 35 x 56 x 5 mm, is smaller than a credit card—features a simple, open source hardware design, and a catalog-available, well-documented processor, according to a press release. This board can replace some costly hardware, and also offers a solution for rapid prototyping without slowing the path to production, which can lower risk as well.

This low-cost Linux computer offers "tremendous expansibility," according to the release. The company also offers the chance to learn programming from online educators.

For hobbyists, "PocketBeagle is small and flexible enough to fit in gaming, 3D printing, robotics or other electronics projects; and affordable enough to dedicate one to live permanently in each of those different projects," according to the release.

"PocketBeagle not only includes a 1-GHz processor, but also industrial-oriented peripherals and microcontrollers optimized for interfacing to the physical world," the release stated. This could also make it a good option for Internet of Things (IoT) experiments, especially in businesses.

I think it is very creative and innovative. "A 3D printed version of the Noah’s Ark story allows children to feel the raindrops, the texture of the boat, the waves."This way kids who are visually impaired can still get a chance to 'see' the world.They can experience things like we do and they can get a chance to visualize in their minds what things are like.Although it may be quite thick and heavy to carry around as they are 3D raised pictures,i think it is a nice thing for the visually impaired children to have as they get to a chance to read picture books like normal children.It will not be heavy as these 3D raised pictures can be printed on any surface and parents can choose the lighter books for convenience sake.However it will be thick as the 3D raised pictures have to bulge out for the visually impaired children to read.I think it is worth it as the visually impaired children get a chance to have a normal reading experience with picture books this way.

Or, to put it in plain English, your ISP must provide equal broadband access to you or any site -- Amazon, Netflix, etc. -- without slowing down or speeding up sites for additional fees.

So, what will this mean for you? Wheeler declared that this new stance "will ensure the Internet remains open, now and in the future, for all Americans." We'll see. As Mark Cuban, serial entrepreneur, said on CNBC, "Let the lawsuits begin."

Simply put, the memristor could mean the end of electronics as we know it and the beginning of a new era called "ionics".

The transistor, developed in 1947, is the main component of computer chips. It functions using a flow of electrons, whereas the memristor couples the electrons with ions, or electrically charged atoms.

In a transistor, once the flow of electrons is interrupted by, say, cutting the power, all information is lost. But a memristor can remember the amount of charge that was flowing through it, and much like a memory stick it will retain the data even when the power is turned off.

This can pave the way for computers that will instantly turn on and off like a light bulb and never lose data: the RAM, or memory, will no longer be erased when the machine is turned off, without the need to save anything to hard drives as with current technology.

But memristors have another fundamental difference compared with transistors: they can escape the boundaries of binary code.

Around 16 million mobile devices worldwide was hit by malware as at the end of 2014, while attacks on communications networks rose during the year, according to new research by Alcatel-Lucent.

Less than 1 percent of infections came from iPhone and Blackberry smartphones. Although, new vulnerabilities, such as the 'Find My iPhone' exploit discovered last year, have emerged in the past 12 months, showing that they are not immune from malware threats.

This article effected me in the way of how I learn best. I am an audible learner but i also like to have a hard book to flip the pages of and look back on, instead of having to switch screens . Part of me has an aversion to reading long articles/stories/content online because in a textbook, i can use post-it notes, fold over pages, and flip back and forth easily. It is great that they are trying to make everything uniform with teachers and students, but not everyone learns the same or enjoys staring at a screen for countless hours in order to finish their homework. The internet is also a huge distraction.
