LG Display geht auf der in Kürze startenden CES (6. bis 9. Januar 2016, Las Vegas) in die Vollen – und präsentiert ein aufrollbares OLED-Display.

Viele Details zum neuen aufrollbaren OLED-Display, das LG auf den Namen „30R“ taufte, nennt man in der Pressemitteilung nicht. So ist aus früheren Berichten lediglich bekannt, dass der südkoreanische Konzern bei seinen aufrollbaren Bildschirmen auf ein spezielles Polyamid setzt. Das ermöglicht es LG Display, ein besonders dünnes und flexibles Panel herzustellen, das sich auf einen Radius von bis zu drei Zentimetern zusammenrollen lässt – ohne Schäden am Bildschirm zu verursachen oder die Bildqualität zu beeinträchtigen. Die Auflösung betrug bei den im Juli 2014 gezeigten Prototypen 1280x810 Pixel. Ob LG Display diesbezüglich nachgebessert hat, ist nicht bekannt.

Samsung has just announced a new pair of OLED displays with unique features: one is transparent and the other is a mirror. The mirrored display offers up a typical reflection of someone standing in front of it, but is also able to add augmented imagery overtop, like a necklace around the user's neck. The transparent display was demonstrated as a billboard ad, with advertising information appearing on a clear panel, and background scenery still visible.

I imagine already to see THE new interactive mirrors with digital information on it...
