Cette pédagogie met l’accent sur le comportement, les capacités à travailler à plusieurs et à apprendre très vite en autonomie.

Il ne faut pas simplement regarder l’outil, mais comment ces outils sont utilisés.» Une désacralisation des technologies pourtant au cœur des enjeux, au profit d’une démarche pédagogique nouvelle. La tendance est ainsi à l’«adaptive learning».

Les contrôles d’accès censés protéger les données personnelles comme le carnet d’adresses peuvent être contournés, comme vient de le démontrer un chercheur en sécurité.
Depuis hier, 24 septembre, les utilisateurs d’ordinateurs Mac peuvent installer la dernière version du système d’exploitation macOS Mojave. Malheureusement, celle-ci est déjà impacté par une importante faille de sécurité qui met à mal la protection des données personnelles. Avec macOS Mojave, Apple a en effet musclé les contrôles d’accès aux fichiers et aux applications sensibles tels que le carnet d’adresses, l’historique des messages, la base de données d’email, le microphone, la caméra, etc. Mais ces contrôles d’accès peuvent être court-circuités, comme le démontre le chercheur en sécurité Patrick Wardle.

Cet expert a développé une application baptisée « breakMojave » capable de siphonner en douce le carnet d’adresses de l’utilisateur sans rien lui demander. Il a montré le déroulement du hack dans une vidéo Vimeo. Au départ, on constate qu’aucune application tierce n’a accès au carnet d’adresses. Le chercheur ouvre ensuite une fenêtre Terminal et tente d’accéder directement aux données du carnet d’adresses, sans succès. Le lancement de breakMojave provoque enfin l’extraction des données, qui se retrouvent copiées en vrac sur le bureau.

Brandman University is taking a new approach to adult education, focusing on students' competencies so that they can apply their work experiences to speed their path to graduation.

Brandman already is working with companies, including Walmart and Discover, to offer employee-education programs. The Irvine, California-based nonprofit university's competency-based programs make it easier for working adults to earn college degrees and advance their careers.

At most conventional colleges, students must fulfill prerequisite courses to earn admission and a set of required courses to earn a degree. Under the Brandman approach, if an applicant has, say, a 20-year career in finance but no formal coursework in finance, the university's “adaptive learning engine” can detect her prior knowledge and tailor the curriculum to ensure that she focuses on new material. Brandman's first graduate completed a bachelor's of business administration degree in 18 months.

The technology that makes the Brandman model possible includes a cloud software platform developed by edtech startup N2N Services. On the platform, the university developed a game-based learning application that offers students a series of tests to demonstrate their competency. As students pass each test, they’re automatically moved to the next level of the program.

Virtual Pin is a concept invented by Blynk Inc. to provide exchange of any data between hardware and Blynk mobile app. 

Virtual pins are different than  Digital and Analog Input/Output (I/O) pins. They are physical pins on your microcontroller board where you connect sensors and actuators.

 

Blynk lets you control any hardware connected to Digital and Analog pins without having to write any additional code.

For example, if you need to turn On/Off LED connected to Digital pin, you don't have to write any code: 

  1. Just use BlynkBlink code for your hardware
  2. In the Blynk app - add Button Widget and set it to pin D8
  3. That's it! No additional code is required. Simply press Play in the app.

Le potentiel des nouvelles technologies pour l’apprentissage et l’éducation est en grande partie non évalué. Il manque de recherche précise sur le sujet et notamment de recherches sur ce qui se passe dans le terrain et pour chacun des apprenants, et ce à tous les âges de la vie. Il y a peu d’évaluations en dehors de sentiments personnels.

L’une des questions centrales est : a-t-on appris à apprendre ? Et a-t-on appris à apprendre de manière critique à l’heure du numérique ? Car on peut aussi être manipulé par le numérique. Tout moyen de communication est aussi un moyen de manipulation, on l’a vu de Goebbels à Trump ou Daesch. Plus on a des outils de communication efficaces, plus il faut développer l’esprit critique et la capacité à distinguer le bon grain de l’ivraie, ce qui est tout sauf évident même pour un adulte et a fortiori pour un enfant ou un adolescent.

Par contre ce que le numérique permet, par rapport à la radio par exemple, c’est qu’on peut tous produire et partager et que l’on peut facilement documenter ce que l’on fait. On peut échanger plus largement et à toutes les échelles. On a donc cette possibilité, non seulement d’apprendre à lire, écrire mais d’accueillir une production faite par d’autres et de soi-même produire, via l’écrit ou tout un tas d’autres dispositifs que le numérique permet.

Cyber hygiene is about training yourself to think proactively about your cyber security — as you do with your daily personal hygiene — to resist cyber threats and online security issues. Ist die klassische Berufsausbildung überholt? Um die Ausbildung flexibler gestalten zu können, könnten 36 Level statt drei Ausbildungsjahre eingeführt werden.

Die Digitalisierung erhält immer schneller Einzug in die Ausbildungswelt. Azubis können sich ihre Arbeitsanweisungen mittlerweile aus der Cloud ziehen, Maschinen schon lange mit Tablets bedienen und in sozialen Netzwerken lernen. Und auch die Berufsbilder bleiben vom digitalen Wandel nicht unberührt. Doch nicht allen geht die Transformation von alter zu neuer Ausbildungswelt schnell genug.

Das neue Ausbildungsjahr beginnt zumindest schon ganz im Zeichen der Digitalisierung. Zum 1. August können sich junge Menschen bundesweit erstmals zum Online-Händler ausbilden lassen. "Kaufmann/Kauffrau für E-Commerce" heißt das neue Angebot offiziell. Es soll eine Antwort auf den seit langem boomenden Onlinehandel sein. Eine Antwort, die zehn Jahre zu spät kommt, kritisieren Experten denn auch – und wünschen sich mehr Schnelligkeit in Sachen Digitalisierung. Nichts anderes als die Zukunftsfähigkeit Deutschlands stehe auf dem Spiel.

"Die Ausbildung kommt nicht zehn Jahre zu spät, sondern genau rechtzeitig", sagt dagegen der Vizechef des Bundesverbands E-Commerce und Versandhandel Deutschland, Martin Groß-Albenhausen. Weil sie Fachkräfte forme, die vielleicht das "nächste große Ding im Handel" umsetzen würden. "Wir haben einen Beruf geschaffen, bei dem wir am ersten Tag der Ausbildung jedem Azubi sagen, dass er am Ende der drei Ausbildungsjahre vermutlich einiges, was er in den ersten Monaten lernt, nicht mehr anwenden wird." Der Handelsverband Deutschland geht von mehr als 1000 Onlinehandel-Azubis in diesem Jahr aus.

Aside from cool cat feeders, it is possible to find multiple maker projects for controlling garage doors, blind windows, smart locks, tracking cars, control temperature and humidity levels, and so on. However, the security aspect of these devices needs to take some extra attention, starting from the connection between the device and the Cloud infrastructure.

 

Most microcontrollers today are not powerful enough to handle secure connections, like SSL or TLS, so all the communication between the device and the server is open to attacks, like sniffing values, tacking device credentials, faking values, granting unauthorized access to physical facilities, unlocking doors, and many other possibilities. This way, securing the communications for all the Internet-connected devices should be a priority, especially if they can jeopardize our security or privacy.

The security of the Internet of Things does not only rely on secure communications, but it is a great start. The maker community must be aware of the security concerns of untrusted communications, and must have the appropriate resources to handle it. This way it is common to see different alternatives to offer secure communications in the microcontrollers, like porting SSL/TLS libraries to cheap devices like ESP8266, or device vendors that already integrates a crypto chip that process all this stuff by hardware, like the recent Arduino MKR1000.

In thinger.io we are concerned about this security aspect, so our cloud supports secure connections for any device with this capability. In the recent Arduino library update, starting from version 2.4.1, we have introduced support for the Arduino MKR1000, including secure TLS connections by default. Just start with the following sample sketch for the MKR1000, and you will have encrypted connections by default.

The maker community must be aware of the security concerns of untrusted communications, and must have the appropriate resources to handle it. This way it is common to see different alternatives to offer secure communications in the microcontrollers, like porting SSL/TLS libraries to cheap devices like ESP8266, or device vendors that already integrates a crypto chip that process all this stuff by hardware, like the recent Arduino MKR1000.

In thinger.io we are concerned about this security aspect, so our cloud supports secure connections for any device with this capability. In the recent Arduino library update, starting from version 2.4.1, we have introduced support for the Arduino MKR1000, including secure TLS connections by default. Just start with the following sample sketch for the MKR1000, and you will have encrypted connections by default.

So what is your personal brand? Whether you’re known for your snaps or you’re still using a typewriter, you have a brand that exists both on and offline.
