ESP8266 and Visuino: Control Servo Remotely Over Wi-Fi With Rotary Encoder: 19 Steps (with Pictures) | #Maker #MakerED #MakerSpaces #Coding

ESP8266 and Visuino: Control Servo Remotely Over Wi-Fi With Rotary Encoder: 19 Steps (with Pictures) | #Maker #MakerED #MakerSpaces #Coding  | 21st Century Learning and Teaching | Scoop.it

ESP8266 modules are great low cost stand alone controllers with built in Wi-Fi. In this Instructable I will show you how you can control a Servo remotely over Wi-Fi with a Rotary Encoder. The Instructable is a similar but more advanced version of the "Arduino Nano and Visuino: Control Servo with Rotary Encoder" Instructable.

In the Instructable, I will use 2 NodeMCUmodules. One version 0.9, and the other 1.0. The NodeMCU are the easiest way to program and experiment with ESP8266controllers. This Instructable however can easily be done with other modules, and the Servo module can even use ESP-01 module as it needs only one GPIO pin to connect to the Servo.

4D Systems | 4D-Workshop-4-IDE | #Coding #Maker #MakerED #MakerSpaces

Introducing 4D Systems' All New Workshop4 IDE Supports multiple development environments, to cater for different user requirements and skill level. Workshop4 is a comprehensive software IDE for Microsoft Windows that provides an integrated software development platform for all of the 4D family of processors and modules.

The IDE combines the Editor, Compiler, Linker and Downloader to develop complete 4DGL application code. All user application code is developed within the Workshop4 IDE. Workshop4 includes four development environments, for the user to choose based on application requirements or even user skill level. Designer This environment enables the user to write 4DGL code in its natural form to program the display module. ViSi - Genie An advanced environment that doesn’t require any 4DGL coding at all, it is all done automatically for you.

Simply lay the display out with the objects you want (similar to ViSi), set the events to drive them and the code is written for you automatically. ViSi -Genie provides the latest rapid development experience from 4D Systems. ViSi A visual programming experience that enables drag-and-drop type placement of objects to assist with 4DGL code generation and allows the user to visualise how the display will look while being developed.

Serial This environment is also provided to transform the display module into a slave serial display module, allowing the user to control the display from any host microcontroller or device with a serial port.

Visuino - Visual Development for Arduino | #Maker #MakerED #MakerSpaces #Coding

Visuino - Visual Development for Arduino | #Maker #MakerED #MakerSpaces #Coding | 21st Century Learning and Teaching | Scoop.it

The components found in the Visuino software represent their hardware components and you will easily be able to create and design your programs using drag and drop. No equipment or hardware is needed to run the software in design mode. Once you have completed the design, you can connect Arduino board upload and run it.

For those people who are not strong on writing code then designing, compiling and creating Arduino programs has never been easier! Why waste time on creating code when we have done all the hard work for you already? You have your Arduino board, and great hardware design, see it running in minutes, not hours!

We recommend that you join the Google group to keep up-to-date with all the latest releases.
