UK-Bringing the latest in E-Safety to your door step

UK-Bringing the latest in E-Safety to your door step | 21st Century Learning and Teaching | Scoop.it
Find out all of the latest news and events from the South West Grid for Learning and keep up to date with the latest national developments in ICT in education.

New Ofsted Framework; how does your e-safety measure? Also new e-safety resources and tools – Free Update Briefings

The autumn term will again see radical change; change that will have far reaching impact on e-safety and professional responsibilities at your school, academy or organisation. The UK Safer Internet Centre is organising over 100 short briefing sessions, right across the nation, to outline these changes and their impact.

These sessions will be free to attend and will aim to last approximately 2 hours. They are primarily aimed at senior leaders and those with

a ===> safeguarding responsibility. <===

Why are these briefings important?

E-Safety is one of those areas of safeguarding that never seems desperately important until things go wrong; only then do a host of authorities appear to point out the massive gaps that you missed. The recent Serious Case Review at a North Somerset First School where a member of staff had been systematically abusing children over a period of time clearly identified the glaring gaps in online safeguarding that in hindsight are so obvious but at the time, obviously didn’t register as a cause for concern - continue reading...

Each session will include the following updates

*** Latest technology overview; opportunities and threats:

 - Latest research conclusions
 - Ofsted frameworks (England venues)
 - Legislation update (England and Wales)
 - Latest tools and resources
 - Follow up
 - Question and Answers

Gust MEES's insight:

The implementation of ===> latest tools and resources <=== is very important!!!

Infosecurity Europe is Europe’s number one Information Security event

Infosecurity Europe is Europe’s number one Information Security event | 21st Century Learning and Teaching | Scoop.it

Infosecurity Europe is Europe’s number one Information Security event.  Featuring over 350 exhibitors, the most diverse range of new products and services,

===> an unrivalled education programme <===

and over 12,400 unique visitors from every segment of the industry, it is the most important date in the calendar for Information Security professionals across Europe.

Gust MEES's insight:

Critical Thinking:

When someone connects to the Internet (s)he needs (he doesn't see it BTW) to connect trough  different other service located in the US and somewhere else before (s)he gets his Internet connection (right!?), SO (s)he needs to pass through a lot of different services...

When searching a website on Internet one mostly finds some located in countries where "Security" isn't really taken that serious and one risks an infection of the connected device (right!?) when connecting device (computer, anyOs, SmartPhone, tablet, BYOD)!

Here is a list of the countries who host the most Malware on a global view:

http://www.scoop.it/t/21st-century-learning-and-teaching?tag=TOP+20+countries+whit+malware+resources

I would wish to see the Day that when someone connects to the Internet I would see ===> YOUR visited website, blog (or other...) is secure! (without a Third Party Program!) Even if my connecting device would NOT be protected, in this case I would like to see displayed ===> YOUR connecting device is NOT protected! We suggest to YOU to check the following... to make it protected! <===

That would be what the Internet in 21st Century MUST be!
