This was certainly an eye opener that many of the skills I am learning as a pre-service teacher in the areas of ITC and pedagogy relate directly to skills that are desired in the workforce. This strengthens my resolve to be able to teach students using these pedagogies to ensure that they are successful in their lives post schooling.

Because of ICT there are sooooo many NEW possibilities to use with the computers and the internet. Just imagine that a company owner should employ people for each special application, NO WAY! (S)He wouldn’t have enough money to afford it!!! So it is necessary that the 21st Century worker/employee would be an all-rounder! Teachers are the experts who will help identify the problem, the root cause of the problem, and the possible policy solution(s). So the checklist? It’s a great start. But I have a to ask a question that could make it even stronger. In the words of Goldstein (2013), “Why are the best players in the game of education reform sitting on the bench?”
