It's all going off in grocery retailing as a number of major retailers have announced that they are cutting prices in the New Year. Morrisons, Tesco and Sainsburys have all done so, hoping to stave off the advance of the discounters, Aldi and Lidl. |
Which is greener? Plastic bags or paper bags - the Reality Check column investigates, and fails to reach a definitive conclusion, primarily because the answer depends upon how many times you reuse them.
The plus side for paper is that they decompose quickly; however, I don't believe Morrisons assertion that they're every bit a durable as plastic bags.
