Is Adaptability more important than Passion?

Is Adaptability more important than Passion? | Career Advice, Tips, Trends, Resources | Scoop.it
Image via Wikipedia LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman has pulled off something extraordinary in his book-writing debut.
Trish Sadar's insight:

Interesting article about Reid Hoffman's new book.

Shifting gears in our careers is normal and can be healthy — and maybe even optimal.  The most important virtue, in their eyes, is adaptability.

While I still believe that passion fuels the heart, and turns a job into one's life...adaptability is defintely up there.

It use to be that loyalty was valued above anything else....now resilience, teamwork, and adaptability are the popular kids asked to join the team.

What are your thoughts?

Make it a great day!

Don, so interesting hearing your pearls of wisdom. Have you written a book?

What a coincidence ... we're having similar conversations with our teenage daughter ... as we try to set her up for success (she's a high school senior ... so we're having many chats about the future, college, career, about what her passions are). Small world.

Haven't written a book ... just happy to be able to share tidbits of wisdom that were first shared with me or discovered along the way ... and pass them on for others to think about.

Finding your passion and surrounding yourself with high-achieving role models is the key to a successful life and Tony Robbins knows firsthand that it's possible for just about anyone.
Trish Sadar's insight:

I have to admit that I have listened to Anthony Robbins for ages!  I dedicated my first book to him, and believe in his call to action.  While other people may talk about and lecture about passion, he oozes passion and has been instrumental in me finding my own passion.

Can you imagine waking up every morning and you can't wait to get to work?  Can you imagine going to bed each and every night knowing that you made a difference?  Lastly, can you imagine loving what you do and doing what you love and getting paid for it as a living?

As a bartender many years ago listening to his cassette tapes, he inspired me to believe that anything was possible.  I know it to be true, and urge anyone who is reading this to attend one of his seminars.

He has certainly made a difference in my life and my life's mission is to make a difference in millions of peoples' lives to arm people with confidence, clarity, and commitment to reach their potential.
