In the summer of 2011, archaeologists from the Museum of Cultural History in Oslo discovered a Viking burial ground in Langeid in Setesdal in southern Norway. In one of the graves they made the discovery of an ornate sword.…

This important piece was the backdrop of a side altar dedicated to the Virgin Mary in a now disused church in Venice. It features the most detailed hand-engraved metal thread decor with painted flowers, material, canvas, and wood trim. Engraving reads "Maria". Such truly unique pieces are mostly used as dramatic backdrops for statues, sculptures, paintings or to accommodate an indoor water feature. Circa 18th century.

"A small mint has produced a set of Game of Thrones money, and I was particularly taken by the Dothraki Puli. This is a “chain” of coins, minted from a single strip of precious metal and designed to be left together as one piece of money, or cut off smaller denominations as needed.
