Cayo Scoop! The Ecology of Cayo Culture

It touches on subjects such as cultural integrity, the sugar industry, migration of American entrepreneurs and developers, and especially the influence of American lifestyles, with the invasion of American TV and Coca Cola. Featuring interviews and appearances by with the Prime Minister Dean Barrow (then Attorney General), Barry Bowen, the late Vernon Harrison Courtenay and Emory King."

The Coca Cola at 50 exhibit, which has been at Belmopan's George Price Centre for the last month, is leaving to go to the next spot.  Most of Belize's best artists painted a picture with the theme 'open happiness.'  Many of the paintings are amazing, to say the least, and the creativity really makes it hard to pick a favorite.  In case you missed it, here are the 50 paintings.  

The Coca Cola art exhibit is also at the Benque HoC.  They also did their opening ceremony last night.  

Tonight at 6:30 at the SISE House of Culture, and at 7:30 at the Benque House of Culture, there will be Coca Cola Art Exhibition launches.  Bowen & Bowen is celebrating 50 years of bottling Coca Cola in Belize.  They invited many professional and novice artists to paint pictures for the event, and you can see them tonight.  The exhibit will run through August 20th in Cayo.

The National Spelling Bee is tomorrow is tomorrow, Friday the 8th, at 9:30 in Countryside Park in Spanish Lookout.  Good luck to all contestants.  Thanks go out to Coca Cola for sponsoring this great event.

The SISE House of Culture had the opening of the Coca Cola art exhibit last night.  There are some amazing pictures there.  They had a really quick introduction, followed by the exhibit, and then they served Coca Cola and some delicious panades.  The Benque HoC also had their opening of the exhibit.  Both exhibits run unitl August the 20th.
