Belize Tourism Board Launches Three Year Action Plan & New Identity for Belize

Belize Tourism Board Launches Three Year Action Plan & New Identity for Belize | Cayo Scoop! The Ecology of Cayo Culture | Scoop.it

The Belize Tourism Board has a new logo.  It's a retro toucan...Nice!  They've changed the motto from 'Mother Nature's Best Kept Secret' to 'Discover How to Be.'   The logo was designed to be a 'contemporary, yet classic vibe to represent tourism in Belize modern yet timeless.'

"The BTB firmly believes that this repurposing of the brand will help to solidify Belize’s position on the international tourism map.  Guided by the framework of the National Sustainable Tourism Master Plan (NSTMP), the Action Plan embraces priorities in all key departments, with an emphasis on Marketing & Industry Relations; Destination Planning; Quality Assurance; Information Management & Revenue Collection."

Belize Tourism Board Year In Review

The Belize Tourism Board released a great video that documents last year's successes.  They have some of the statistics from last year too, and talk about the logo change and website upgrade.  The Cayo Welcome Center is highlighted, and they even mention the BDRP II.  They talk about the tourism strategy, from trade shows to social media.  They mention the new flights to and from Belize in the video.  Well done, BTB.

"The Belize Tourism Board give a review of the year 2013 with all the tourism arrival statistics, marketing strategies, celebrating achievements in the industry and announcing strategies for 2014."

Belize Coalition to Save Our Natural Heritage's New Logo

Belize Coalition to Save Our Natural Heritage's New Logo | Cayo Scoop! The Ecology of Cayo Culture | Scoop.it

They have a nice new logo for the Belize Coalition to Save Our Natural Heritage, and a new video to explain it.

"The logo represents the Coalition’s work in addressing oil exploration in both Belize’s offshore and onshore, including protected areas, which are represented by the oil drop and the colours green and blue.  The design also shows that the work that the Coalition is doing also secures the livelihoods and heritage of Belizeans depicted by the images of the family and fisherman.  The two halves of the drop forming one represents the coming together of members from various sectors, with onshore and offshore mandates, joining in the fight toward one common goal - a properly planned oil industry outside of our waters and protected areas."

The New Belize Logo Story

The New Belize Logo Story | Cayo Scoop! The Ecology of Cayo Culture | Scoop.it

After 26 years, Belize finally has a new logo.  How did Olson come up with it?  The unique process is described, and they made a video about the process too.

"Olson turned to Belize itself for inspiration--the circular forms found across the nation inspired the new typeface, while a local artist contributed his own take to the national bird, the toucan.  In all, the identity brings a contemporary, yet classic vibe to represent tourism in Belize and harkens back to classic travel posters of the '60s (which, as design pieces tend to stand the test of time better than the stuff of recent years).  The graphic forms are balanced out with textural brushstrokes, a nod to the handcraftsmanship of the country's artisans."
