The Belize Forest Department had its Youth Summer Camp last week, and it was here in Cayo at Sacred Heart College. Looks like the students had a lot of fun while learning about sustainability. They also got to visit the Green Iguana Conservation Project and Bulridge's acreage. Awesome to see.

'The Forest Department held its annual summer camp from July 10th-14th, 2023 under the theme “Healthy Forests for Healthy People”. '

Rotary has cause to celebrate: There is a new club in Benque, and the SHC Interact Club was officially launched.  Rotary clubs are known for their community service projects, of which they've had more projects in Belize than one can count.  They're already planning more.  Congratulations, Rotary!

"It was a big day for Rotary in western Belize yesterday and our Club as a sponsor. The Interact Club of Sacred Heart College was officially launched with 24 members in a lovely pinning ceremony and refreshments. Thank you Office Gurus for the donation of the pins!

BTIA and BTB Meeting

BTIA and BTB Meeting | Cayo Scoop! The Ecology of Cayo Culture | Scoop.it

Cayo's Belize Tourism Industry Association had a very successful meeting where Dr. Metzgen explained the Belize Tourism Board's rules and regulations.  The BTB was there to answer all the questions.  It was a great meeting, and even a blackout couldn't stop the momentum.

"The Cayo BTIA met with the Belize Tourism Board, and many stakeholders, at the Sacred Heart College auditorium last night.  Dr. Metzgen's presentation went well, and went forward even with the power outage."
