Happy anniversary to the Pesticides Control Board! They celebrated their anniversary at the San Ignacio Resort Hotel, with some great live music from the World Culture Band and Pablo Collado.
"Yesterday the Pesticides Control Board celebrated its 25th anniversary at a commemorative event held at the San Ignacio Resort Hotel! CEO in the Ministry of Natural Resources and Agriculture joined Board members and staff at this celebration."

The Benque Festival of Culture starts this Friday with the Photography Exhibit at the Benque House of Culture, and goes through Monday. It'll continue next weekend too. There will be performances from the Benque Marimba Academy, Pablo Collado, and Orquidea Negra, just to name a few. "CACHE Benque in conjunction with Benque House of Culture (NICH) hereby present the 5th International Festival of Culture in Benque Viejo del Carmen starting on the 15th of November! Be a part of it and dont miss out on the events! All are FREE...!!!! This is the agenda for this weekend. Stay tuned for the following week!"

The Seniorita Flor de la Feria contestants were at the Cave Garden and the Cancha Marshelleck Friday night for their second presentation(s). D Russell Photography was there to capture the fun.
In related news, Cave Garden is the new happening restaurant in Benque, with live music on the weekends from Pablo Collado.

Cayo was represented at the Belize Film Festival opening ceremony. Orquidea Negra was there, as were many others. The Benque House of Culture has uploaded quite a few pictures from the 13th Baktun performance.

The Benque House of Culture had their new exhibit launch last night, and they got some great pictures from the event. The launch kicked off the Benque Festival of Culture, which is happening now, and continues through Monday. This weekend, there will be performances from the Benque Marimba Academy, Pablo Collado, and Panerrifix, just to name a few.

Here is the definitive album for the Seniorita Flor de la Feria pageant. Congratulations again to all contestants for doing their best, and having such a well orchestrated event. Orquidea Negra and Pablo Collado were there too. D Russell Photography captured it all, and the pictures are crisp and clear. It's as if he was on the stage too. Kurse a di Xtabai, the movie made in Cayo earlier this year, is making its second round through Belize. Here's the San Pedro Sun's review from when it was shown at the Paradise Theater on Ambergris Caye. Matthew Klinck and Make-Belize Films are gearing up to shoot the next movie, 'Rice and Beans,' next month.
"Put simply, the movie featured first-time actors, so the acting could certainly use a bit of polish. But still, for the first time ever in front of the camera, the young men and women certainly did well. The soundtrack was beautiful, featuring the Garifuna drums and melodies, Maya sounds by Pablo Collado and more. The setting, of course, was a great one – not that I’m biased or anything."
