Cayo Scoop! The Ecology of Cayo Culture

You've seen the new Myan mural downtown, the Vision Serpent.  Mr. Awe has taken his idea, and made something much bigger out of it.  They have plans for doing many more murals around Cayo.  Here are a ton of great pictures from some painting being done around San Ignacio and Benque.  Keep getting those young artists involved in this great cause.

Belize's new telephone directory is online.  BTL has uploaded their entire phone book.  Cayo starts on page 223.  San Ignacio starts on page 277.  Benque: 217.  Belmopan: 126.

The SISE House of Culture is doing their movie night on Earth Day...Earth Night.  They will be showing One Day on Earth, which is the first film ever shot in every country in the world on the same day.  Sounds like quite a project, and it must be quite diverse.

Burns avenue is coming along nicely.  They've gotten most of the bricks laid in the road.  Great work, guys.  There are a few pictures of the Cayo Outdoor Theatre on there too.  Tonight they are playing Un Rey el La Habana.

Yesterday, at Hode's, the Belize National Youth Chess Foundation had the West Cayo Chess tournament.  Belize's future chess champions squared off.  Hode's and BTL were the sponsors.  Check out the pictures here.

Look at all the smiling faces!  The SIPL has Rosado's preschool and Santa Elena Primary Infant children over for a visit.

Burns Avenue is alomost finished.  It's looking good.  The Welcome Center is coming along nicely, and there's already one shop open in the finished building next to the market.  The latest entry in the Mural Project is done.  Can't wait to see the next ones.  And...Greedy's is hiring.

The University of Belize had its annual Relathon, and the males set a record breaking time of 7 hours and 10 minutes.  Congratulations to Garrett Bermudez for making a mile in 4:49.  Check out the great pictures they got of the event.

The SISE House of Culture will be open on Thursday until 12:00 noon, and will then be closed until Tuesday.  Happy Easter to the SISE HoC.

The Cayo Outdoor Theatre has selected their 2 movies of the week.  Tonight, in downtown Cayo, they'll be showing Crips and Bloods: Made in America.  Tomorrow night, Wednesday, they'll be showing Sin Nombre in Benque.  Thursday, they'll be back in downtown Cayo with Sin Nombre.

 Ka'ana has 2 new villas, and they have private pools!  They got an amazing write up too.
