Monkeypox in India | blogs | Scoop.it

Monkeypox is an infection caused by the monkeypox virus, which belongs to the Orthopoxvirus genus, which also includes the Variola virus, which causes smallpox. The virus is easily spread to humans if they come into contact with someone afflicted with the virus, including people, animals, and other living things. Body fluids and lesions are thought to be the primary mechanisms of viral transmission from person to person.

It can also be spread by respiratory droplets and infected objects. Monkeypox symptoms typically last 2 to 4 weeks, with a mortality rate of roughly 3–6 percent, as witnessed recently.

Pneumonia, eye difficulties, skin infections, disorientation, and other complications are common. For more information, read the Paybima article and learn more about the disease.
