7 Poor Thinking Habits We Must Fix to Think More Critically

7 Poor Thinking Habits We Must Fix to Think More Critically | Box of delight | Scoop.it

At one time or another we have all engaged in poor thinking habits. After all, nobody’s perfect and neither is anybody’s thinking. However, that doesn’t mean we can’t get better at it and start thinking more critically. It’s worth our time to seek ways of improving our thinking and to guide our learners to do the same.

Poor thinking habits refer to the ways of thinking that produce adverse effects in every part of our lives. They can negatively affect our personal progress, our relationships, and everyone around us. But they do much more than that, actually. Not only do they affect the outside world, but they do damage from within as well. In the long run poor thinking can affect our self-esteem, our ability to cope with challenges, and even our physical health.

3 Wonderful TED Ed Talks on Internet ~ Educational Technology and Mobile Learning | Box of delight | Scoop.it

While going through my Twitter feeds today I came across this list of 7 TED videos on technology. Being  a fan of TED talks , I could not let this list pass without  checking it for new talks I might have missed. Sometimes, we do feel compelled by the constraints of our time to drop interesting videos to watch  but one way to work around this problem is to create a playlist either using a web based tool or just on your browser.

Sometimes, You're Just Wrong (And That's Totally Okay) | Box of delight | Scoop.it
(Hi, sorry, popping out of Holiday Exile long enough to write this.)

You will discover, via that article, that there exist people who are ‘truthers’ about facts that are provably false — they believe that it’s the Berenstein Bears and not the Berenstain Bears, they believe there was a genie movie called Shazaam starring Sinbad instead (or in addition to) a genie movie called Kazaam starring Shaquille O’Neal, they believe that the Vader line is “Luke, I am your father,” rather than “No, I am your father.”
