Taylor Swift buys porn site domains

Taylor Swift buys porn site domains | Consumption Junction | Scoop.it
Taylor Swift is the proud owner of many enviable items:

Gorgeous kitties, legs that go on forever, seven Grammy’s and err, two porn site domains. The pop goddess has reportedly purchased the rights to two rather questionable websites, TaylorSwift.porn and TaylorSwift.adult so that no one else out there can make money off her name, or porn.

Deanna Dahlsad's insight:

It's exactly what I would do.

Gender gouging: Women often pay more than men | Consumption Junction | Scoop.it

Moms Stressed Out by Pinterest - 05/13/2013

While Pinterest might seem like a place for caring and sharing, the female-dominated social network is actually stressing a lot of users out, according to a Today.com survey of 7,000 U.S. mothers: in fact, 42% of respondents said they suffer from “Pinterest stress,” stemming from anxiety that they can’t live up to the ideal suggested by images of domestic perfection posted on the site....

"Of course, this phenomenon -- in which people carefully craft their online images to show themselves in the best possible light, and other people mistakenly assume this somehow corresponds to reality -- isn’t limited to Pinterest..."

That's why I seldom look at Pinterest. It is too much. I could find a lot of great ideas and things I'd like but have all the pressure of never having all that I see and want. Easier to step away from the Pinterest site and just live with my own reality.

A Cupcake Is Never Just a Cupcake: The Psycho-Sexuality of a Twee Treat

A Cupcake Is Never Just a Cupcake: The Psycho-Sexuality of a Twee Treat | Consumption Junction | Scoop.it

Cupcakes only care about their own orgasms. When you see a woman eating a cupcake, you're basically watching her perform cunnilingus on herself. Small and moist and warm and sweet, a cupcake's sole reason for existence is solitary pleasure. Historically, many symbols of female power or divinity involved fertility and/or reproduction: circles and eggs, Mother Earth and Mother Goose. But modern times call for modern branding, and if you're looking for the shorthand way to label something as being of, for or about the essence of a woman, and you have no pictogram of a vagina handy, by all means, slap a cupcake on it.

Understanding Female Relationships With Greeting Cards

Understanding Female Relationships With Greeting Cards | Consumption Junction | Scoop.it

While Hallmark was run by a man — or men with a few “poor working girls,” and can be seen as The Man, you can’t deny the serious dedication the company had to targeted marketing. They spent oodles of dollars and gobs of time focused on what sold and who bought it — including focus groups of women. If women weren’t buying the charming illustrations of women in their dainties and picture-laden puns of underthings, Hallmark wouldn’t have made them.Let alone so many of them.

...So one has to at least include the probability that women’s adoration of the female form, our so-called bisexuality or ability to be more fluid in our sexuality, has been around for a long time and perhaps has as much to do with “sex sells,” sexist ads, and our culture’s consumption of pornography as the patriarchy does.
