If you are new to social media a few lessons will help get you off to a good start. Many times users don't have enough information when getting started and get in trouble by posting inappropriate information.

4. By this source, I would assume people would have grasped the idea of CI, and its presence in an online world. This infographic explains through facts and figures the power that the internet has at impacting CI. These facts are somewhat astounding (although a few years outdated) as we witness how collaborative software and the internet are able to improve productivity. This infographic shows a more physical impact that CI has in a modern world as we begin to understand just how often we use it with websites such as Facebook, Wikipedia, Gmail. Published on a social media professionals blog, this is an explanation of certain insights in a way in which people who aren't necessarily tech-savvy can understand. Going through his other posts, I believe he is also a big online curator and find him to be a trusted and authoritative source. |

"Both B2C and B2B companies are in an arms race to develop innovative user experiences, expand distribution, and capture new sources of monetization. Digital leaders are discovering that their future depends not just on what their own companies can do, but on the capabilities, functions, channels, and insights they can tap by partnering with others."
Rule 1. Never innovate alone. Rule 2. Understand that no single company has a lock on user preferences. Rule 3. Focus first on a great user experience, not the value exchange. Rule 4. Strike the right balance between scale and customization. Rule 5. Treat your partnership like your business. Is your company open to partnership?

A media plan is just as important as a business plan! I'm always surprised how many businesses operate without a written business plan, same for media, it makes a huge difference!

It has become clear that social media is turning into quite the process. It’s becoming more and more important, so many different tools and advice columns keep popping up to help businesses and individuals stay organized and successful when it comes to this newer marketing effort. This has caused many companies to create a full-time social media position for experts to help manage the many social accounts, follow analytics, get creative with engagement, etc. It takes a lot of time and effort, but the payoff is only increasing as social involvement increase.

WHY IT MATTERS: facial recognition + social networks allow tools like this one to surface: take a picture of someone on the train and find their personal pictures on social networks. For now, only Russia and China allow this, I would expect this to be a business killer app for augmented reality glasses: the glass continuously takes pictures and overlays the LinkedIn profile of people you meet in business context. I would install that without thinking about it twice!
