Soundcloud is a very powerful tool. It gives people the option to post their music for anyone to hear.

SoundCloud is a great source for more things than just music. While searching through soundcloud you can find podcasts and talks, so I don't see why they couldn't use it's powers for teaching, I think this is a cool idea.

I have been using these tools with my students in order to improve their speaking. I give them an English text and they have to record it during the week (It's a weekly activity). After that they bring the mp3 file to class and I correct it and they receive feedback. Later, the original audio of the text is given to them and they study to record again. They really enjoy it !!!

Audacity
Audacity is free cross platform, open source software for recording and editing sound.
Great for recording students assessments. Students are motivated by end of unit recordings. It is free and is a great tool for teachers to listen back to performances when marking them. |
CK-12, a website that provides free materials for educators and students across grade levels. This link goes to a new series of physics simulations. However, if you work with students and are interested in finding great free resources that include video, text, audio, images, quizzes and interactives then it is worth your time to explore CK-12.
