This infographic shares information from a recent survey on flipped classrooms. It also shares information from two previous surveys allowing you to see how rapidly some changes are taking place. * In 2012 73% of teachers recognized the term "Flipped Classroom, in 2014 that is up to 96%.

* Close to half the teachers researched have been teaching for more than 16 years - Cool because it shows it is not just the way of young techie teachers.

Please note that the data was collected over 10 days in an online survey by Sophia (the website) and the Flipped Learning Network and 2,358 teachers replied.

Finding great videos that you may use in your classroom takes time. This post provides four videos with a STEM focus that you may choose to use in your classroom. These are often referred to as motion graphics. The ones within this post include:

* The Solar System, Our Home in Space is "an infographic trip through the wonders of the solar system" that allows students to explore the inner and outer planets;

* Measuring the Universe, which combines math and scale and helps students begin to comprehend how vast the universe is;

* For the Love of Mountains, where you will learn more about some of the "extremes" of the earth's mountains;

* Forest (the English version), a "study in ecology and the environment.

I find videos are a great hook for students, providing opportunities for them to quickly engage with the subject and begin to ask questions as they want to learn additional information. These four videos would work with a wide range of ages and are well worth checking out.

The more I look through TED-Ed videos the more I find that are useful to use with students. This one explores how sugar affects the brain. As always there are a series of questions you may use after viewing the video as well as additional resources and an online forum question. And if you are interested you can flip the video for your use.

This infographic/visualization provides six steps that show how to flip a classroom. It also makes it clear that after you work through the six steps you must also review what has taken place, revise as necessary and then repeat.

The six steps are:

1. Plan

2. Record

3. Share

4. Change

5. Group

6. Regroup

But to understand what they mean by each of these you should go to the post. Flipping the classroom takes time, but today there are many locations where you can find great videos that will work for you. There are numerous tools available that help you create videos on your own, or take an existing video and add comments, questions, etc., so that it will meet your needs. If you are considering using video as a way to flip your class in the upcoming school year this post also provides links to additional resources that you may find helpful.

This video may surprise you with what students actually learn (or do not learn) when watching videos. If you are going to be creating videos to flip your classroom, or you using videos created by others take the time to watch this one. You may find yourself making some revisions to help your students better understand key concepts.
