For teachers interested in transforming their social studies classroom from the traditional mode to a more digitally based curriculum will find this fascinating. The ability to convert old PowerPoint presentations into videos that can be directly uploaded to YouTube are a tremendous offering. Creating and crafting your own podcast channel via YouTube is a terrific way of allowing your lessons to go home with the class and allows you more time in class to spend engaging students in the content!

ICT PracTICE | 7th Grade Student Video Project ==> Mr. Kirsch's ICT II Class | eSkills | ED 262 Culture Clip & Final Project Presentations | Scoop.it

Dan KIRSCH: The following are examples of my 7th grade student’s Video projects. The objective for the students was for them to create a video describing how “Technology Has Impacted their Lives” in either a positive or negative manner.

The students were put in groups in order for them to film and describe their content. I really wanted the students to focus on how technology has become an integral part of everyday life; however can this become bad?? In essence, I wanted students to focus on the content people put on the internet and/or share information they should ==> Privacy.

These videos were created by 7th grade students. The following videos depicting students do have permission from parents/guardians to be shown on the blog....

Getting Creative With Video in the Classroom @JonathanWylie

Getting Creative With Video in the Classroom @JonathanWylie | ED 262 Culture Clip & Final Project Presentations | Scoop.it
While watching the Oscars tonight, I was intrigued to see a promotion that Walmart was running to celebrate the craft of film making. I don’t normally pay a lot of attention to  commercials, but these ads managed to catch my attention, and I think that they have some interesting potential for teachers who are looking to add some creativity to video projects in their classroom.

Walmart contacted four award-winning directors, Seth Rogan and Evan Goldberg (Superbad, Neighbors), Antoine Fuqua (Southpaw, The Magnificent Seven), and Marc Forster (Monster’s Ball, The Kite Runner). They sent each of them a receipt with the same six items and challenged them to make a one minute movie that was centered around the six items on the receipt. You can learn more here, but take a look at the videos below to see what these talented directors came up with…
