Word Booster

Word Booster | ED 262 Research, Reference & Resource Skills | Scoop.it

It gives you a list of words you are likely to look up in the dictionary as far as the given text is concerned, guesses a good dictionary definition for the words along with example sentences. And finally, it also makes a quiz for the words using both the definitions and example sentences. (Of course we give you the answer key too.)

This is a great free tool for creating word lists and vocabulary quizzes from online text. It works within minutes. A great time saver.

Normally, when we write an article, essay, narrative paragraphs, etc… we are so inspired that do not pay attention in the grammar mistakes, although word lets us know certain mistakes, it is an incomplete tool that has a lot of ambiguous suggestions. Most of the tools that we found at Internet are not useful due to the fact that are not developed correctly so we have a lot of ideas and our written text is almost perfect but as students, our grade is low for the grammatical errors. Now, thanks to 5 tools we can check our grammar and be sure that our text is accurate. The tools are: Grammarly, Paper Rater, After the deadline, Online correction, Hemingway Editor. All of these tools are available to improve our grammar competence.

It's Never Been This Easy to Find a Great Topographical Map

It's Never Been This Easy to Find a Great Topographical Map | ED 262 Research, Reference & Resource Skills | Scoop.it
The USGS is on a open-access roll with topoView, an advanced new map-finding tool.

The cartography arm of the U.S. Geological Survey has been on an open-access roll. First they send their constantly updating stream of satellite imagery to what's basically a public dropbox, so that anyone can use Landsat-8 photographs for free. And now they're introducing topoView, an online archival tool that makes truly accessible the agency's 178,000 topographical maps, dating from 1880 (shortly after the USGS started mapping the country) to 2010.
