Digital transformation (Dx) is a cultural, workforce, and technological shift. It is being driven by technology trends and changes that include advances in analytics, artificial intelligence, the cloud, mobile, consumerization, social networks, and storage capacities. Those drivers are enabling a new approach to everything from digital architectures to how campus leaders interact with the IT organization, all with the expected outcomes of new business models, improved student outcomes, different teaching and learning methods, and new research capabilities.

We should keep in mind that education is valuable beyond graduate earning capacity, and that what a student learns during their education can have little to do with why they earn more.

Public schools losing out in political power plays. By @emmaelitarowe

This special funding deal will only further stimulate the private school sector and exacerbate segregation by socio-economic status across school sectors.

The Review to Achieve Education Excellence in Schools calls for a “sector-blind” approach to education reform, an approach that will “enable all students to achieve educational excellence”, regardless of their school sector. This latest announcement contradicts the prior policy papers from this government.

The public school sector caters for our society’s most disadvantaged. This is the school sector we should be actively celebrating and supporting through bold federal government initiatives.

Fairfax-Ipsos poll: Huge majority of Australians oppose laws banning gay students and teachers | Educational Leadership | Scoop.it
But the Archdeacon of Albury, Peter MacLeod-Miller, said the disclosure of the Ruddock review had been a "blessing in disguise" because most Australians would be "horrified" that teachers within religious schools are vulnerable to prejudice.

"Their current vulnerability produces fear and forces adult employees into hiding which is the most appalling modelling for the students in their care and makes a nonsense of the extra $52 million youth mental health funding just announced," he said.

"Faith-based discrimination makes refugees out of people within our own families, society and even faith communities.

"If discrimination is bad for children at what age does it become good for adults?"
