The 'Summer Slide' (see link below) is a phenomenon that we should consider as well as the comfort of our children while they are studying.
I do feel for NZ kids, as many classrooms do not have Air-con. When I moved to Perth 7 years ago, I was amazed at how almost all school classrooms had Air-con. But then again, in Perth it is an essential!
