Using the word feedback can lead to a message that goes nowhere ...but we all need someone  to assess , study and give an interpretation of how we can get better ... golf game included. This notion of don’t give feedback is ridiculous and a ploy at selling products.Yes  I agree don’t use the word feedback ...it’s outdated ...people don’t want it that way ... do course critique or correct whatever you want to call it. Here are synonyms use these instead of feedback ...and let me know what your results are 

What is similar about all the situations mentioned above? In each, the individual was criticized, but they each moved on and became public figures who were incredibly successful. They learned from criticism.

This post explores criticism, sharing a section on how criticism originally focused on literary criticism, which was also at a time when many could not read or write, and tracing the history forward to today, where we often use the word feedback.

Whether you're a leader or a peer, part of your responsibility is to give people feedback. Having been raised in a culture that often dances around the truth and tiptoes near insecurities, you may lack the skills required to balance brutal honesty with a sense of compassion.

Think about the feedback you've been given. Chances are, in some of those situations, the feedback was hurtful. Other times, after the initial sting subsided, you learned a great deal about yourself.

In the best type of feedback, however, you felt respected, safe, and pushed slightly outside of your comfort zone. That's because the most effective type of feedback is tailored to the individual--making him or her feel appreciated and pointing out where growth needs to occur.

Finding that perfect mix is easier than you think.
