6 Quick Daily Care Tips for Empaths and Highly Sensitive People « EmpathSolutions.com | Empaths | Scoop.it
It’s crucial we make our health and well-being our number one priority. Why? Because many of us are busy taking care of others needs first while completely ignoring our own needs. If this becomes a habit, it’s easy to start feeling resentful (even towards the people we love). We can feel like no one truly appreciates us after giving and giving till there was nothing left for us to give.

When we are feeling great and in our optimal state of well-being, things flow easily. Giving become more effortless. Time sort of flies by. Many individuals can tap into this state of being when they are doing what they enjoy.

~ A Personal Tarot Book Of Days: Empath

~ A Personal Tarot Book Of Days: Empath | Empaths | Scoop.it
I'm reminded by this card the world is full of evil, always has been. But used to be, you only heard about the evil in your own neighborhood. Time passed and the world got smaller and we learned the evil wasn't a one-of, these atrocities were common.

Then the newspaper and internet ages were upon us and we found the world was drowning in evil...so much so that good seems like an aberration.

Evil seems the norm and empaths must shield themselves with whatever tool they can find. What a shame because they could offer a path to the light for some of the harmed.

Transcend Your Reality: Empathy, Releasing, and Building Bridges to the Subconscious

Transcend Your Reality: Empathy, Releasing, and Building Bridges to the Subconscious | Empaths | Scoop.it
As an empath, or sensitive, I've found it absolutely necessary to find productive and healthy methods to release negative energy and traumas from the body, and subconscious. Shielding, clearing, and grounding are also important practices to incorporate into your daily life, if you find yourself sensitive to, or overwhelmed by the sea of energy around you.

Empaths typically have to release much more than most, as they are the energy sponges of the world. A sensitive empath can be brought to tears by touching someone, many are healers, and use the gift to feel where the body needs healing.

Caring for Ourselves, Caring for Our World, Part II: Are you an Animal Empath?

Caring for Ourselves, Caring for Our World, Part II: Are you an Animal Empath? | Empaths | Scoop.it
In Michael Stone’s lecture on caring for the caregivers and burnout, he presents some unique perspectives that help deepen our interconnectedness with compassion and loving kindness.

His discussions on burnout and compassion fatigue relate directly to animal lovers. I see this happen regularly when animal lovers want to work with animals and help rescue them succumb quite quickly to emotional exhaustion and empathy fatigue.

What is an empath? When empathy is taken to the next level... | Empaths | Scoop.it
An empath has the neuro-system in tuned with incoming waves of any type so to speak. And there are as many types of empaths as empaths themselves.

So, some can feel emotions, but others can feel animals, and yet others can feel atmospheric disturbances. Some will process them as emotions, others as physical disturbances. Some will acknowledge the source, some can´t. Some can feel remanent emotions in places (for example where battles took place), some can feel electromagnetic waves.

How about feeling overwhelmed when there is an emotional current running through a crowd you are among, like intense anger, immense sadness, or even joyous elation? As Empaths and Highly Sensitive People (HSP), we tend to be hypersensitive to the emotions and emotional states of others.

Animals As Empaths

Animals As Empaths | Empaths | Scoop.it
“Animals are such agreeable friends – they ask no questions; they pass no criticisms.” ~ George Eliot

As an empath and intuitive it gives me a little chuckle to notice that same gift in animals. My cat is one of those elements of nature that constantly reminds me of the predominance of feelings as a mode of communication instead of words. When she is in the same room as me and I think a positive thought she begins purring.

The Book Of Storms | Empath 101

The Book Of Storms | Empath 101 | Empaths | Scoop.it
A high degree of overall sensitivity is the general indicator for this type of person. All of the sensory organs of an Empath have low thresholds thereby resulting in unusual sensitivity to light, smell, and sound (as well as other subtler senses). Although underlying sensitivity is the unifying factor behind all Empaths, how this sensitivity is "managed" or "funneled" varies from person to person.

An Empath also possesses a very sensitive emotional nature, that is typically difficult to self-manage. Books have been written on "highly sensitive people" and those materials are relevant to this topic. However, being highly sensitive is only one part of the formula for Empaths.

The Joys and Pitfalls of Being an Empath

The Joys and Pitfalls of Being an Empath | Empaths | Scoop.it
Being an empath is a double edged sword. It can be both a curse and a blessing. On one hand, you have the ability to intuit exactly what you need to do to make someone comfortable. On the other, it is easy to lose track of what you need, because you are so accustomed to caring for other's comfort before caring for your own. You have easy access to information about what is going on with the people around you, but sometimes it is hard to know your own mind.

Empathic Perspectives - Where The Empathic Mind Expands.

Empathic Perspectives - Where The Empathic Mind Expands. | Empaths | Scoop.it
On this website, we often talk about empathy and all of the different issues that are associated with it, directly or indirectly. One such issue, we generally only touch upon indirectly, is that of trust. You see, empathy and trust go hand in hand as a platform for effective communication, understanding and relationships.

Empathy is about understanding another person's point of view. And part of the empathic process is about establishing trust through listening, without judgment, and offering understanding, even when one personally disagrees with the other person. All of this is done in order to develop a rapport with another person, in order to interact with them on equal footing.

Riding the Waves of Time: A-Z Challenge: E - Empathy

Riding the Waves of Time: A-Z Challenge: E - Empathy | Empaths | Scoop.it
Since childhood I have always felt ‘different’. I was always the ‘sensitive’ one out of my Brother and I and a huge daydreamer – I still am infact. What better and cheaper way to escape real life then by drifting off into your own mind for 5 minutes or so at a time.

I have always been able to read others body language without trying and I have always had a strong ‘need’ to help others,

Empaths are people who are very sensitive and are able to link to someone obtaining a high level of understanding of the person’s situation without having to know very much about them. They are in fact able to be acquainted by means of things that they cannot have had any previous knowledge or understanding of. They have what could be described as a knowing, the empath is able to link closely to another person and be very perceptive of that persons life situation. As Empaths are able to tune into the feelings of those around them they are able to feel the hurts of others very acutely.

What Is An Empath? | Empath Guide

What Is An Empath? | Empath Guide | Empaths | Scoop.it
An Empath is a person who can psychically tune in to the emotional experience of a person, place or animal. In the paranormal and in some works of science fiction and fantasy, highly developed empathy is a psychic ability to sense the emotions of others and often highly aware of the health and state of mind of their loved ones, no matter how physically near or far away the individuals may be. It can be challenging for Empaths to function healthily in society if they are unaware that they have this sensitivity and often opt to be alone.

Are You Highly Empathic?

Are You Highly Empathic? | Empaths | Scoop.it
She questioned, "Is that being empathic?" The quick answer is that she is probably highly empathic and so is an Empath, a term for someone with an extremely heightened level of empathy. My dictionary defines empathy as "the ability to identify with and understand somebody else's feelings or difficulties." This human trait is becoming more widely understood and the term used more frequently in popular culture.
