Finally, kids are getting outside and having fun.
Instead of celebrating, though, some parents and experts are shaking their heads at the potential ramifications. The culprit: Pokémon Go, the augmented reality game that has taken the United States by storm over the past week.
The concerns have merit: Injuries have been reported, as well as eyebrow-raising reports of robbers catching players unaware as they try to catch the cartoon characters bouncing across their screens. But there is an upside: Kids are finally exploring the world around them. In running to find Pokémon this summer, kids have stumbled upon the classic childhood pleasure of joyfully exploring the outdoors.
