This article pretends to analyze the work of two contemporary artists: Rosana Paulino (São Paulo, Brazil 1967), and Claudia Contreras (Buenos Aires, Argentina 1956), where the works criticize misogynistic practices and present a privileged link to feminist thinking. Their artistic experiences offer the elements to understand the relationship between art and gender in Latin America, and are examples of cultural tensions and critical interventions that affect different women artists today.
