CRISPR/Cas9 technology has been rapidly developed. This genome editing tool shows several aspects that affect its efficiency and specificity such as Cas9 activity, target sites selection and sgRNAs design, delivery methods, off-target effects, and the incidence of homology-directed repair. In this study, the authors highlight the factors that affect the utilization of CRISPR/Cas9 as well as possible strategies to handle these problems.
