TED-Ed's mission is to capture and amplify the voices of great educators around the world. We do this by pairing extraordinary educators with talented animators to produce a new library of curiosity-igniting videos.
A new site, which will launch in early April 2012, will feature these new TED-Ed Originals as well as some powerful new learning tools.

Letting students take more active roles in their learning doesn't mean teachers should take more passive roles. It means we should take new roles. We should assess students before assisting them. We should prepare for students' mistakes rather than try to prevent them. We should facilitate less whole-group instruction, and more whole-group discussion.
We should do what Yves Kabore has done to enable 6th graders to "fly through" material many 10th graders would find challenging: coach students rather than teach students. Via Gust MEES
