"“The best way to look at AI for grading is as a teaching assistant or research assistant who might do a first pass … and it does a pretty good job at that,”

Educators should take time to understand the problems AI can solve and involve the whole educational community in decisions. Human judgment remains crucial, as AI should augment, not replace, teacher expertise. Panelists recommend community engagement and ensuring AI implementation is thoughtful, prioritizing equity and justice. Training and support are essential to help teachers use AI effectively while keeping their unique insights central to the educational process.

A practical and great title!
Yes, when I read the article, I thought again about whether early childhood education AI is ready. Undoubtedly, AI continues to develop rapidly in early childhood. In this process, the interest of both teachers and educators began to increase. I agree that these issues are in their infancy in early childhood. Some problems must be considered and precautions taken in this process because AI is a sensitive step. For instance, an effective solution must first address concerns about privacy, biases, and equality. I am hopeful that technology will find and support better solutions over time.

"In the eye-opening paper, the researchers uncover a striking aspect of the digital landscape: a significant fraction of the web, particularly content written in less commonly spoken languages, has been generated not by humans but through machine (AI) translation."
EDTECH@UTRGV's curator insight,
March 15, 12:32 PM
"The integration of AI into our daily personal and professional lives is not a distant future – it is our present. This brings us to a critical juncture where AI Literacy emerges as the newest 21st Century Competency, joining the esteemed ranks of critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity, or the 4C’s as they’re commonly known in academic circles." |

"While the report acknowledges AI's advantages and utility for students, teachers, administrators, and IT professionals, it also emphasizes "we're just beginning to understand the future of AI in education" and the need to address current and future challenges of AI responsibility, trust, and transparency."
Francesca Gonzalez's curator insight,
May 26, 7:33 PM
Using AI tools to encourage and engage students is better than just providing them with answers to their questions. Not much learning and understanding is done when individuals are just given the answers to problems. They still need to think on their own and give their own work based on their level of understanding and knowledge, not the AI tools.

"Recently Educause released its inaugural AI Landscape Study, which polled the higher education community about AI strategic planning and readiness, policies and procedures, impact on the workforce, and the future of AI in higher education. We spoke with report author and Educause Senior Researcher Jenay Robert for a deep dive into some of the thinking behind the study, what the survey findings tell us about institutions' AI journeys, and how "I don't know" might be the theme of the day when it comes to AI."

"Institutions of higher education, long viewed as the enablers of social mobility, are facing significant erosion of public confidence. Increasing concerns are being voiced about the value of a degree and the viability of current models of higher education that still largely follow the structures, priorities, and constraints of past centuries, rather than evolving to meet current needs and those of the future."

"AI models, like humans, are limited by the context they have. If a question lacks clarity, the answer won’t be helpful. Just as clear communication with clients requires design briefs, providing AI models with the right context gives them the information they need to generate meaningful responses."
