Interestingly, the amount of time leaders spent on the issue had little impact on their success; the correlation was barely significant. But how they spent their time, including the number of sources of influence they applied, had a huge impact.

Excellent article! I know you have seen many articles about story telling; however, I am so very passionate about this topic.
I first started tapping into the power of story telling when I was working as a server. My trainer was so skilled at telling stories that painted such a powerful picture that the words reached minds and pulled some powerful emotional strings.
Please take a moment to read this article....Karen Dietz, thank you again for sharing with us!
Before crafting my stories regardless of the topic or subject matter, I ask myself the same three questions:
1. Who is my Audience
I work hard at putting myself in their shoes to understand their vantage point. I think about...What do they know, what objections may they have, why should they listen, what is in it for them to listen, what will they gain, what emotions may they be going through
2. What do I want to Achieve
I ask myself questions like: What does success look like? How will I know that the talk has been successful? What are the goals that I want to achieve for myself, for the audience? Now, how do I achieve the goals with the established time?
3. How do I want to be perceived (and the company)
For example, Caring, empathetic, etc.
These 3 questions I use often....hope this article and the tips provided help you.
Make it a great day!
