Awakenings: Let's TALK Chicken!

Awakenings: Let's TALK Chicken! | Human Interest | Scoop.it

"A Bit of Humor to 'kick start' your day...

Buck,buck...buck...buckAHHHH; brrk, brroock, broock, brk-ooock; bwwaaaaaaaaaaaakkkkk and bock, bock, bock, bock, bock, begowwwwk!
NO! I did not make the sounds as I typed or did I?

My husband and I both awoke this morning in rare form! Laughter is ever present in our household but this morning was different. Ever been so tired you became 'punchy'? Everything you saw, everything you said seemed funny and you laughed at the silliest things almost to the point of hysteria like running on high from too much caffeine. That's us today and would you believe it led to the topic of conversation being chicken."

Awakenings: Bleu, bleu...today is bleu!

Awakenings: Bleu, bleu...today is bleu! | Human Interest | Scoop.it
No! 'Bleu' is not misspelled nor is it for this occasion any indication of a sad, gloomy day! The different spelling is attributable to its French connection. The French form of the 'b-l-u-e' spelling has been used in names of various French bleu cheeses - a cheese containing a blue mold - marketed widely in Britain and the United States. Another reference is the name "Le Cordon Bleu" meaning The Blue Ribbon, which designates something or someone (often a chef) of the highest class or first-class distinction.

Skuuppilehdet's insight:
This celebration surrounds the rich history and heritage of Le Cordon Bleu, the world's largest school for hospitality education which originated in France. From the culinary talents of the school emerged an easy but impressive creation that definitely fits the category of blue ribbon quality with or without the 'bleu' cheese - Chicken Cordon Bleu and Veal Cordon Bleu. Through the years, chicken has remained the most popular but the classic combinations have taken on many creative variations.

Awakenings: Poultry in Wine

Awakenings: Poultry in Wine | Human Interest | Scoop.it
Not every 'recipe' has a spot on the food calendar two days! What's coming up is really good if you like French cuisine, especially poultry cooked with wine. Why? Because this IS the second time around to bring France to your table.  March 22 marked celebration of Coq Au Vin Day, not to be confused with National Coq Au Vin Day which is today.
