Here's a brief explanation of the conflict in Colombia, as well as the voting upset over the past week.

Sometimes in the news we will read a lot about ISIS and the Rebels in the Middle East but, we also hear about the Kurds. Between 25 and 35 million Kurds live in the borders of Turkey, Iraq, Syria, Iran and Armenia. They make up the fourth-largest ethnic group in the Middle East, but they have never obtained a permanent nation state. The Kurds have played a dominant role both in playing roles for Turkey and Iraq and Syria conflicts. Also, the Kurds are known for not being influenced by the Islamic State to join the jihadist state. These people are defined for there independence from the the countries it boarders but have struggled to do so. Battles have occurred throughout time and what is known as 'Kurdistan' still struggles to get its permanent nation state. This nation of people could change the geography of the world if they are allowed to be its own country. The same as Catalonia in Spain. Devolution is huge in the Middle Eastern area due to the geopolitical powers a lot of the rebel groups desire.

This is an interesting collection that touches on a lot of relevant themes. It should raise a lot of questions for you. The most important thing to keep in mind is what's the state of the world according to these images, and how do the people and places represented compare and contrast?

As we consider the ethnics of dropping the first two nuclear bombs (and hopefully the only ones) in history, why not take the time to consider who has them and who doesn't? Test Tube adds some clarity.
