Australia is currently the fastest-growing OECD nation. In 2013, Australia’s population grew by 1.8% compared with the OECD average of 0.7%. This is not as high as the 2.2% in 2008, which was the most rapid rate of growth since 1960. However, among Asian countries, only Singapore and Afghanistan have populations that are growing faster....In the lead-up to the budget, the story of crisis has been hammered home, but there’s more to a country than its structural deficit.
