If you haven’t already figured it out, I am absolutely OBSESSED with color. Having a defined color palette for your brand is extremely important no matter what stage you are at in your business. Your defined brand color palette creates consistency and easy brand recognition. If you are at the DIY branding stage or you’ve been in business for years you MUST have a color palette to use on your website, promotional material, and social media. This is one of my favorite parts of the branding process with my clients, so I’m overly excited to share this with you. You will need a Pinterest account and Adobe Illustrator (you can buy a monthly plan here.) STEP 1 – PINTEREST MOOD BOARD The very first step is creating your own color mood board. Pinterest is a great tool for this. To begin, create a secret board. Start pinning things that you are attracted to. Don’t think about it too much because the more you pin the more you have to work off of and we will sift through everything in step two. I suggest pinning around 50-75 pins to your board. Try searching things like “branding, logos, color palettes” to get started. While pinning think about color combos you like and themes and moods that you want your brand to emulate. Go on pinning overload!! STEP 2 – SIFTING! Here’s where we are going to get real with ourselves and our brand! After completing your Pinterest mood board, do you see any common themes or colors you’ve repeated? What are they? If you don’t see any repetition, I suggest you keep on pinning. Once you do, start deleting your random pins. Make sure the board now looks like a cohesive masterpiece. Be patient because its important to take your time with this. You will be seeing these colors often so make sure you absolutely love them. STEP 3 – CREATE SHAPES! If you don’t want to go through all the trouble of learning how to make a template. Just download my already created .ai or .psd file by signing up below! And head on over to step 4. Now open illustrator. Open a new document. I made my document 6 inches by 2. From there, go to the shape tool which looks like this and select ellipse tool. Click on your art board while this tool is selected and hold down and drag while…
