Information and digital literacy in education via the digital path

Research on learning has never been more important than today when learners must continually adapt to new technologies and make sense of huge quantities of information. An understanding of learning theory informs not only what we teach but how we teach it. Instruction that fails to apply various learning theories is at risk of transmitting information in ways that do not allow students to use it effectively and transfer it to future information-related tasks.
