Bookmarking tools are key to the effective management of digital resources. They allow you to capture  and save important information to read later. Most of these tools provide organizational features enabling users to organize their bookmarked content into boards and collections that can be shared with others. Other tools  even go a step further to provide collaborative features that allow a group of people to collectively bookmark and share online resources.

16 Curation Tools for Teachers and Students :: Casey Bell | Information and digital literacy in education via the digital path | Scoop.it
If you follow my blog, you know I curate a lot of resources for teachers. This post brings together a suggested list, a curated list if you will, of 16 curation tools for teachers and students from the Shake Up Learning community. Choosing how to curate and what tools to use can be a very personal decision depending on your own needs and preferences. That’s what’s so great about the world wide web of tools! There is no shortage of tools.

Curation is absolutely necessary in the information age! As Gayle Allen says in her book, The New Pillars of Modern Teaching, “We’re assembling resources in a way that represents the ongoing story of our learning. We are the curators.”

6 Great tools for content curation - Daily Genius

6 Great tools for content curation - Daily Genius | Information and digital literacy in education via the digital path | Scoop.it

I read recently that content curation is dead. I have a few different arguments against this concept, but for now, I’ll keep it short and sweet: Content curation is not dead, and while the debate over curating content online vs creating new content will rage on and on, curating content for other reasons is still going strong.

I also agreee with this issue as good references are still a must.  Probably, we'd  stick to great curation features: short, simple and useful. Curation tools are smart mainly for two purposes:  the basic, to share only best quality  content on the web and secondly to release good content you've already produced.  The only hiccups is to be honest enough to publish only best  quality stuff.

3 EdTech Resources Every Teacher Should Know about

3 EdTech Resources Every Teacher Should Know about | Information and digital literacy in education via the digital path | Scoop.it
Effective integration of technology in education is a two-fold process that consists of two main stages. The first stage is theoretical and aims at providing pedagogically sound theoretical underpinnings to inform any prospective digital practices in instruction. We have already compiled and shared a set of interesting books that theoretical backup. The second phase is practical and this is where theory is put to practice. In this stage, teachers get to experiment with a wide variety of educational web tools and mobile apps that can potentially facilitate their teaching and enhance students learning. To this end, and besides the multiple EdTech resources we have been sharing over the last few years, we are featuring three particularly useful platforms that can help teachers search for, access and find EdTech tools to use in their teaching.

One of the strengths of these websites for digital curators is the use of hashtags. Anyone can easily search for curated content related to any topic by simply typing in the relevant hashtag. For instance, try out typing the hashtag #edtech in any of the social media platforms mentioned above and you will have access to hundreds of user-curated links of resources covering different EdTech topics. Alternatively, you can use web platforms that are specifically designed to facilitate and enhance digital curation. Besides empowering you with the tools to curate, organize and save relevant web content, these platforms will also provide you with access to great  digital collections other educators have curated. The list below features four excellent digital curation platforms created by teachers for teachers. We invite you to check them out and, as always, share with us your feedback. Enjoy
