Stop teaching. Start Learning with Educational Games

Stop teaching. Start Learning with Educational Games | Information and digital literacy in education via the digital path | Scoop.it

Janet is a student in a top university in Singapore. I had arranged to meet her to chat about her experience with classroom learning. We agreed on a cafe at Bugis called Mellower Coffee. One that is popular with students, she says.

Great! A new hangout.

I arrived and saw her at a corner. Plugged into earphones, she was engrossed in some videos. Youtube it seems. But this video was different. It looked like the video of a professor teaching in a class. But instead of being in a classroom, she is in a very nice cafe and having a nice coffee.

I believe being able to watch a professor's lecture on an application such as Youtube in your favorite coffee location such as Starbucks is a perfect example of the integration of technology in education. This reflects on the growth of eLearning, which allows students to engage with educational content in their own comfortable flexible setting. It’s a perfect example of how technology can transform traditional educational methods, offering students the ability to learn at their own pace and in settings that best suit their needs.
