Esta publicación contiene las diferentes contribuciones (ponencias, paneles, grupos de discusión, y comunicaciones) presentadas en el V Foro Internacional de Innovación Universitaria celebrado en Bogotá (Colombia). El tema del congreso refleja un contexto mundial en el que la multiculturalidad está presente como realidad viva y en muchos casos doliente, y para otros como realidad problemática.

En la publicación se recogen diversas experiencias y reflexiones sobre esta temática presentando buenas prácticas en los diferentes ejes tratados en este V foro: la dimensión curricular y pedagógica, la dimensión de la responsabilidad social universitaria, y la dimensión basada en la investigación y las Tecnologías aplicadas a la educación universitaria. Los tres ejes ya permanentes en el trabajo que viene desarrollando el FIIU, constatan la relevancia y las aportaciones sistemáticas que se vienen produciendo sobre los mismos, enriqueciendo las perspectivas que desde la visión de las universidades se están trabajando como objeto de estudio.

Works in the public domain are those whose copyrights have expired, have been forfeited, or are inapplicable. Finding something on the internet does not mean it is in the public domain.

These terms will come up often as we discuss free photo sources. Read over the terms and conditions of each site you try so you know exactly when and what type of attribution is required.

World Library Of Science is an open online teaching/learning portal combining high quality educational articles authored by editors at NPG with technology-based community features to fuel a global exchange of scientific insights, teaching practices, and study resources. World Library Of Science currently contains articles in the field of genetics, and is intended for college undergraduate faculty and students. Future plans involve extension of World Library Of Science to other fields within the life sciences, as well as to other audiences.

The World Library of Science wants to especially support students in underdeveloped regions by equalizing learning opportunities, improving the quality of teaching and learning and promoting the use of Open Educational Resources.

At launch the World Library of Science features over 300 articles, 25 eBooks, and over 70 videos from the publishers of Nature. Through the portal students can join classes and create groups to connect with other learners and teachers.

Massive open online courses – MOOCs – offered by top universities have expanded worldwide over the last three years, gaining students globally for courses designed in the United States and elsewhere and disseminated globally on platforms like Coursera, edX and the British-based FutureLearn.

Many conventional MOOCs are developed and designed for Western teaching and learning experiences, says Auh, the lead project designer for MOOC 2.0. “But the general consensus here [among those working on MOOC 2.0] is that MOOCs education must be a collective effort from all parts of the world.” 

What is important, according to Auh, is that to avoid a “type of neo-colonialism”, receiving countries must collaborate in devising the MOOCs their students will study. 

“The stance of MOOC 2.0 is higher education should find ways to address the needs of those at the bottom of the pyramid while being sensitive to their culture,” Auh told University World News.

Are you looking for a free, online image editor? The Edublogger has come up with three programs that meet 3 criteria:

1. It is free to use.

2. It requires no registration.

3. It provides educators and students with an intuitive, easy-to-learn photo editing tool.

Each of the 3 tools is described and there is a list of pros and cons to help you choose.

And the three tools are:

* Picadilo

* Pixlr

* Fotor

Learning to edit images is a great skill for students to learn. You might have them edit an image and use it with ThingLink allowing your students to create an interactive image for others in the class to use.

Currently in beta, Preso.tv is a free service that doesn’t require account registration. Users simply go to http://preso.tv, upload their file, and start the broadcast. Presenters can use an Android device or a PC or Mac, while viewers may use any brand of smart device or computer.

Wow!  This is really cool!  No need to worry about compatability or remembering flash drives ... great if on an audio only conference call.  I absolutely LOVE that no account is needed.  This will be my go to for presentations for a while!

Yet another web tool to make it easy to share your presentation. I don't really see students using it but I can see myself using it with a presentation on the ipad. Upload presentation, start broadcasting and then access it with the laptop that is connected to the projector. Must try it soon!

Nice tool to use in the class. It also works well with Iphone .
