Tony Bates on the value of the accreditation of some MOOC's from Coursera by ACE. Main critic is that they have accredited the content of already accredited programs, only now in another delivery format. It says nothing though on the quality of the learning experience. Via Robert Schuwer

I think this kind of tool can be really beneficial for creating flipped learning or video orientated learning as the speaker can guide learners to various learning resources on the web. They can also embed visual support for language learners such as text and images and even write over the video as though it were a whiteboard. Via Nik Peachey

That mammoth iPad roll-out to students in the Los Angeles Unified School District just got a whole lot bigger, with the district confirming that Apple tablets will come to all 640,000 students by 2014.

Seems the LA School Dstrict are not 'worried' about being tied down to one platform. I can't see why this would be a problem, if the platform works ;-)
