8 Ways To Get Creative With Chromebooks - | KILUVU | Scoop.it
Chromebooks have become popular educational devices that are used in thousands of schools across the US and worldwide. They offer an attractive price and can be used very effectively to target many 21st century skills such as connecting, critical thinking, and collaboration. However, one very important skill that we don’t generally associate as much with Chromebooks is creativity. True, they don’t have the same sets of media tools as most mobile devices and laptops but their web based operating system still offers many avenues for creative expression.

Genius Hour in our Flipped Classroom: First impressions | KILUVU | Scoop.it

Genius Hour became quite trendy for a while a few years ago and really started to take off in the world of primary/elementary schools. For those who aren’t aware Genius Hour (or 20 Time) is where you give students an hour per week to work on whatever project they want. The only stipulation is that they need to present it to their peers in a very open and public way.

Want to Be More Creative? Try More Rest

Want to Be More Creative? Try More Rest | KILUVU | Scoop.it

I remember years ago when Michael Doyle would post about going on long walks by the beach and finding clams and thinking about life. I thought it was a luxury — a nice idea but impossible for a busy teacher like me. But as I started incorporating long walks into my days I found that I was able to reach a level of clarity that doesn’t happen when you’re tapping away at a computer. Mentally, it feels like getting out of a traffic jam and taking things off-road. I’m able to regain my perspective and work on things in a more relaxed way.

Lessons Learned as a Maker Educator – Medium

Lessons Learned as a Maker Educator – Medium | KILUVU | Scoop.it

It’s tough to be amazed when everyone in the class is churning out the same project. Conversely, I’ve found it impossible to not be constantly amazed by the work students do when given choice and the opportunity to create something new! One of the most rewarding experiences for me is to see the moment when the synapses fire and a student suddenly sees something that hadn’t been there before.
