Kids Learn Better When Playing with Robots

Kids Learn Better When Playing with Robots | KILUVU | Scoop.it
For many students, math and science have always been boring subjects, too bogged down with technical details to ever be fun or exciting. Teachers have long tried a variety of strategies to get students excited about STEM. It turns out, one of the best ways to get kids pumped about STEM is through the use of robots. Robots are naturally fun and exciting for kids. When they think of robotics, they might think of their favorite cartoons or superheroes. Learning how they can actually build and use robots is a great way to incorporate STEM into the curriculum without losing …

Robotic art is a type of art that makes use of robotics or machine and automated technology, coupled with computer technology and sensors. Robotic art generally falls under the broader umbrella of kinetic art, which includes art that uses mechanical elements, such as motors, machines and electrically powered systems, but doesn’t necessarily include a computer programme.

With the rise in electronic media and technology in art, robotics has become a popular medium of experimentation. Robotic art can be traced back through history to the first hydraulic sculptures while the genesis of contemporary robotic art can be pinpointed to the 1960s...

Let the robots take our jobs and pay for a universal basic income

Let the robots take our jobs and pay for a universal basic income | KILUVU | Scoop.it
As developments in artificial intelligence and robotics advance, there is going to be a severe and swift disruption of many working classes. Large swaths of laborers are going to lose their jobs, leading to unprecedented levels of unemployment. To account for this problem, having access to basic needs should become a right, not

Many different technologies are leading to the end of working. As working is the (only ?) way to earn money, the question asked is "how to give money to everyone". And most of time, the answer is supposing the same amount for all.

This kind of presupposed are numerous regarding a problem that is not currently effective.  But it is surprising to note that developed countries never consider real application of these statements outside their boarders... However, it would be the best way to really globalize the idea...

Robots: Future Overlords or Devices for Learning?

Robots: Future Overlords or Devices for Learning? | KILUVU | Scoop.it
Robots should not be a 1:1 experience. Robots should be used in pairs or small groups. Part of the magic of robots for educators is that students are not only learning how to write and debug programs to control a robot, they may also be learning or reviewing other curricular content, and they are learning to communicate and collaborate with one another and share roles and responsibilities.
