Have you become desensitized and disillusioned with Twitter? Do you feel like you are suffering from Twitter Tiredness? Do you feel like you are “tweeting in the dark”, spending more and more time on Twitter but getting less and less out of it? I know the story. A few months (or years) ago, you signed up for a Twitter account. You dutifully wrote a clever bio, uploaded your picture and started tweeting. Maybe you followed some accounts and learned a bit about the culture and etiquette of the network before sending your first tweet. After following a few people and building a following of your own, you started following more and more and retweeting more and more, all while spending less and less time engaging in conversations and writing original tweets. Possible is a state of mind!
You have certainly heard, on numerous occasions, people say, “that’s impossible.” What did you do with that? Here lies the difference between success and failure. If we listen to such people, it is certain that we will abandon. Otherwise, we will continue and put the odds on our side to make things possible. We live in a world where pessimism and lack of courage is part of the lives of many people. It’s what makes me say, that here we see clearly the difference between a leader and a follower. Robin Good: If you are looking for ways to improve your content curation efforts, Joshua Merritt has published five useful guidelines to follow. These include abandoning high frequency / high-volume practices, integrating your opinion whenever possible, researching deeper, citing sources and treating curation like original content production. Joshua writes: "If two different people curate and distribute the same content (which happens every day times thousands), what makes the experience of your followers more valuable?
The answer doesn’t have to lie in a single piece of content, but it must lie in the story arch of the greater body of work, and the more you treat each item you curate as a diamond in the rough that needs some extra cutting and polishing to be ready for your audience, the better your content will perform and the more loyalty you will drive in your followers." Getting quoted, giving speeches and writing articles are great ways to market your business. As we measure the degree of damage, or more precisely, reduced revenue and increased costs from the downturn, advertising spending tends to be one of the first cuts owners make. Yet this may be a great time to expand marketing to take a share of the market away from your competitors. The key is marketing without little or no money through efforts like community engagement, referrals or sending a press release to local media. Another method is becoming a recognized expert who is called upon by media and other outlets to speak, write and lend your expertise. Read more: http://bit.ly/HYGw8U

Soon, you’ll be seeing an all-new version of Convince & Convert. It’s undergoing a full makeover, led by the amazing Rafal Tomal from Copyblogger Media. We’re of course staying with the Genesis Framework that provides enormous customization capabilities with unmatched ease-of-use. Here’s an almost-ready preview: The design is based on the new Streamline child theme that is successfully being used by Danny Brown of Jugnoo – who has forgotten more about blog optimization than I’ll ever know. The Case for Redesign Even though WordPress (especially with Genesis) is exceptionally easy to work with compared to old skool Web design days, it’s still a major undertaking. Lots of blogs out there rarely if ever change their look and layout. Why bother? Read more: http://www.convinceandconvert.com/convince-convert-news/redesigning-your-blog-to-drive-reader-behavior/

This question should interest every entrepreneur and someone who is active in one way or another on social media. These different options will give you the necessary support. [note mg] Imagine that you’ve spent years building a business and growing a website. You launch a promotion to email a list of potential customers with exciting new opportunities to save lots of money by doing business with you. Did you email too many people, or did you email the wrong people? Did someone turn you in as a “spammer” to one of the many spammer blacklist organizations out there? Everyone hates real spammers, and the last thing you want to do is get labeled as one. That’s one kind of blacklist. The other kind is worse – the search engine blacklist. That’s the one that is basically a death sentence for your site because Google and other search engines stop crawling your site or even listing it in search results. No blacklist is good to get, because ISP’s and many content filtering services access Internet blacklists to figure out not only what email to block, but also what websites to block or to mark as potentially dangerous. How do you know you’re on the Google List or any other database of blacklisted sites? Read more: http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/8-ways-find-google-list-blacklisted-sites/

The advice from this post will give you some interesting insights to know how to write a compelling 'about me' page and bio for your website and online profiles. [mg] Writing the perfect pitch and crafting a compelling bio is difficult. That’s why whole industries exist to enable us to tell our stories better. Copywriters, creative directors and brand strategists like me wouldn’t exist if it was easy to articulate the essence of what we do, and communicate how and why we do it. There’s no way around it, you need to spend some serious time and energy on your about page, because it’s probably one of the most visited pages on your website.
