Top 29 Ways To Stay Creative [Infographic + Marty Note]

Top 29 Ways To Stay Creative [Infographic + Marty Note] | Latest Social Media News | Scoop.it

Infographics on being creative in life and inspiration with top 29 ways to be creative on success and startup exploring and researching ideas and concept...

Marty Note

My favorite ways to stay creative are:

* Free writing.
* Drawing and painting.

* Reading (actual BOOKS not blog posts lol).
* Talking to smart friends.
* Hitting the museums especially NYC or Philly.
* Riding a bicycle (very Zen meditation for me).

* Creating thought experiments.

* Doing math in my head (I suck at it so it forces all the reserves in).

* Music especially LOUD rock or jazz (Miles especially).

* Taking pictures to support a story.

* Watching TV (Ovation, PBS and HBO best sources of inspiration).

* Working out (back when I had the energy to do that LOL).

* Playing with my crazy bengal cat Lucian.

* Shopping but only in musuem or art stores.
* Working in public (makes me zero in and focus deeper).

* Looking at great design (effect is delayed but there).

* Changing a location (traveling).

* Used to read magazines, blogs don't seem to do it.

* Read something HARD I don't understand (all in again).

* Interview someone smarter than me.

* Curate something especially across nontraditional lines.

* Create a contest or a game.

* Manipulate SPEED of task (speed up or slow way down).

* Think about creative times from the past (working with Alton Pickens at Vassar).

Other great ways to stay creative in this infographic.

And if the poster uses the command, "Retweet" rather than "RT", the retweet rate increases twelve-fold...! Remember, less than 100 chars means +17% engagement, too. More than 2 +hashtags reduces this again by 17%!

Report: Students On Facebook Study 10 Times Less Than Non-Users

Report: Students On Facebook Study 10 Times Less Than Non-Users | Latest Social Media News | Scoop.it

We all know that as students progress through their school years, their homework load increases. Fifteen year olds may look longingly back to when they were ten and had a whole lot less work to do at home. According to the handy infographic below, the average 6-8 year old spends 9 hours per week studying, vs. 14 hours per week for college students. That doesn’t seem so awful, especially when you consider that the average student spends 4.39 hours per day watching television.

How to Maximize the Reach of Your Posts on Social Networks

How to Maximize the Reach of Your Posts on Social Networks | Latest Social Media News | Scoop.it

This article and infographic was posted by Ted Nguyen for his blog.

Intro:

One of the most pressing questions whether you're new to social media or a social media maven is: What's the best way to post information or share content to optimize your reach

Compendium, a content marketing firm conducted a study of more than 200 companies to determine how social media professionals may optimize their engagement with both business-to-business-to-consumer conversations.

What they found is consistent with what Ted Nguyen has experienced and he has demonstrated that he clearly knows what he's doing

Here are some highlights:

"My experience in sharing more than 21,000 tweets and Facebook posts to my more than 82,000 Twitter followers and Facebook friends is consistent with the study’s findings"

.

**I recommend the hours between 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. (Pacific Time) or 1 to 4 p.m. (Eastern Time) are the best times for Twitter and Facebook to optimize social engagement engagement.

**I find that tweets shared earlier in the week do better than those sent later in the week. I also have discovered that Facebook posts do best Wednesday early afternoon.

**if you look at Ted's social shares, they run around the clock. he tries his best to engage with people in real time or near real time.

The Current State Of Social Networks 2012 [INFOGRAPHIC] - AllTwitter

The Current State Of Social Networks 2012 [INFOGRAPHIC] - AllTwitter | Latest Social Media News | Scoop.it

This data comes courtesy of Ignite Social Media, who have compiled the infographic of infographics about the state of social media, worldwide, in 2012. Ignite’s research revealed that while social media as a whole continues to plateau – we haven’t seen any real growth, planet-wide, since 2009 – there are many success stories to be found. Pinterest has quickly established itself as the de facto social network for women, and Plaxo (who knew that was still going?) is incredibly popular with senior citizens.
