Grockit Unlocks Mobile Social Learning:'Learnist' App for iPhone/iPad Avail

Grockit Unlocks Mobile Social Learning:'Learnist' App for iPhone/iPad Avail | Learning, Teaching & Leading Today | Scoop.it

Grockit announced the release of its Learnist mobile apps for the iPad and iPhone this morning.

Grockit, a pioneer of the social learning premise that people learn best when they learn together, is a leader in the test prep industry.

Learnist takes the idea of social learning one step further, as it opens up social learning to the masses.  Because everything worth learning is already on the internet, says Grockit founder Farbood Nivi, we need only to make sense of it, which is exactly what Learnist does.

Nivi states that learnboards are far more engaging and informative than textbooks, and that because many are creted by teachers and experts, they are properly  curated, sequenced and mapped, often offering assessments.

The best news yet for educators--Learnist has boards aligned to and covering 100% of the Common Core State Standards, and now, it's all mobile.

This will truly be a game-changer in education.

The Best Resources For Learning What Google+ Is All About

The Best Resources For Learning What Google+ Is All About | Learning, Teaching & Leading Today | Scoop.it
"NOTE: Google Plus is now open to everyone, and they’ve announced huge improvements to the service at the same time. You can read more about their improvements here.

Against my better judgment , I took advantage of Lee Kolbert’s generous offer today of providing Google+ invites to her Twitter followers. I’m still trying to figure out how, and if, I’m going to find the time for another network (for those of you who don’t know, Google+ is Google’s brand-new effort to create a Facebook-like social network), but enough people whose judgment I respect seem to think it could be a valuable tool. So I’m going to spend some time checking it out.

In the process of beginning to do this exploring, I’ve found some useful resources that I thought I’d share here. Feel free to make other suggestions, too."

Robin Good: If you are looking for a free video conferencing solution, here is my selection of the top 15 (and more) solutions available right now online.

I have personally checked each one of them, and while you may not like each one, they all guarantee the ability to video conference with more than two people (FlashMeeting is the only exception I have included) without you needing to pay anything for it.
