An established player in the UK car industry has suggested that the UK is on the point of entering the last chance saloon as far as its car industry is concerned.
Given US and EU moves to subsidise green technology, he's concerned that the UK government hasn't done enough to help the sector and, without state support, he believes that many of them could leave and move elsewhere. Without decisive moves to encourage firms to produce electric vehicles, he's of the view that all that remains is the prospect of a managed decline.
