This is an interesting story that it is worth keeping an eye on - I''ve come across anecdotal evidence that UK applicants for jobs picking fruit and vegetables are struggling to get jobs, whereas we've already flown in six planeloads of migrant workers from Eastern Europe.

In part, this seems to be as a result of some barriers to entering the labour market existing, either transport restrictions or the need to live on site, or, some people think, farmers adopting a deliberate strategy of favouring foreign workers.
