Another call for a wealth tax, with the Equality Trust noting that the number of billionaires in the UK has increased by 20% since the start of the coronavirus pandemic, as a result of government intervention to support the economy.

There are calls for a package of measures, not least the abolition of non-dom status, and a concerted attempt to reduce inequalities of income and wealth.

Is inequality becoming more of an issue - certainly it seems to be the case in the US, and what starts there often transfers to the UK. When billionaires start worrying about inequality, then it probably is too high.
