And here's a positive multiplier effect - in the interests of balance - with the news that the filming of the Barbie movie added £80m to the UK economy according to Warner Brothers. However, be warned the marketing of this film has already erroneously claimed that it caused a global shortage of pink paint, so you might want to take this with a pinch of salt. 

Phillip Inman assesses the current state of the UK economy and shares my view that the economy looks like it's going nowhere fast. Yes, we've avoided a recession - for now - but a lack of investment and an export shortfall - both injections, of course, mean that aggregate demand is going to remain moribund.

An interesting take on the tourist sector, with the news that visitor numbers are down by 25% and if many of those visitors are tourists, then that represents a lost opportunity with visitor spending an injection into the economy triggering a multiplier effect. 

I think that the multiplier is the single most important macroeconomic concept in 16-18 Economics, as I've regularly told my sets. This is a clear explanation of it.
